Spice Girls - Goodbye

"Goodbye" was the Spice Girls' third attempt to get Christmas #1. Released on 14th December 1998, it was to be the first single from the upcoming album, and was said to be "goodbye for a little while, but not forever". The single was a huge success in the UK, becoming the 8th best seller of 1998 after just two weeks on sale, and the 121st best seller of 1999, shifting around 854,500 copies altogether, going platinum. It was also the 42nd best seller of the 1990s. In the US it was a big hit too, peaking at #11, selling over 500,000 copies - the Spice Girls' biggest hit since "Spice Up Your Life" in October 1997. "Goodbye" sold 2.5 million copies worldwide.
