Melanie C - When You're Gone

"When You're Gone" was the second solo single to come from the Spice Girls, this time from Melanie C on her first solo outing, duetting with Bryan Adams. The song was a huge hit, spending a massive 15 weeks in the UK top 40, with nine of these in the Top 10. The single sold 650,100 copies - the song had virtually equal sales in 1998 and 1999, showing the song's strength on the chart. The song was the 82nd best seller of the 1990s, and Melanie C is the only Spice Girl to feature on the list with a solo project. "When You're Gone" wasn't released in the US, which was a shame as the single could have introduced America to Melanie C as a solo artist.
