Melanie C - If That Were Me

"If That Were Me" was the fifth and last single to be released from the triple platinum album "Northern Star". This single was released after the big promotion of Melanie B's solo efforts, and the big Spice Girls "comeback", and itself, had very little promotion. Because of this, "If That Were Me" went highly unnoticed. The single entered the UK chart at #18 with 18,000 sales in its first week, high sales for a #18 first-week position. "If That Were Me" only sold about 53,600 copies in the UK, which is disappointing as it was a charity single, but at least it raised some money for charity, and brought "Northern Star" back up the chart for the vital Christmas period.
