Emma Bunton - A Girl Like Me

"A Girl Like Me" was Emma Bunton's highly anticipated debut album, released on 16th April 2001 on the back of the massive success of "What I Am" and "What Took You So Long". The album peaked in its first week at #4, with 21,500 copies sold - the joint highest album debut from a solo Spice Girl. Although initial success was promising, "A Girl Like Me" fell down the chart quickly, but when singles "Take My Breath Away" and "We're Not Gonna Sleep Tonight" were released, the album hovered around the Top 75 for several weeks. "A Girl Like Me" sold around 124,000 copies in the UK, the 147th best seller of 2001. The album sold 500,000 copies worldwide.
